Richard Johnstone - Training, Supply & Trading, Contracts

Richard has spent more than 30 years working in major oil industry organisations in both the upstream and downstream sectors. His expertise extends into all areas of oil supply and trading, and he is particularly experienced in the negotiation and operation of commercial contracts for oil and gas sales, lifting, production, processing, transportation and storage.

After graduating from Oxford University, his career path took him through a number of leading energy companies including BP, Kuwait National Petroleum Company, BNOC, the Oil & Pipelines Agency and British Gas Exploration & Production. At various times his senior management responsibilities covered supply, crude oil sales, international marketing, transportation and oil trading.

He was a key member of Channoil’s lecture team at the Bayes (Cass) Business School in London and he has delivered many training programmes and seminars on all aspects of oil markets, supply and trading in Europe, the FSU, North & South America, Africa and Asia.
